Recently I was working on a SharePoint branding project where-in a public facing website for a large privately held company was to be ported into SharePoint (WSS 3.0). The tricky part of this project was, the client hired a third party company (XXXXXX) to develop the website design. XXXXXXX, handed over the design to me to create a SharePoint public facing website utilizing their template. Now, XXXXXXXX did an excellent job in creating a website utilizing all of industry's best practices using divs and stylesheets for layouts, but these industry best practices do not work well within SharePoint. Why? Well the simple answer is, SharePoint spits out table based layout. hmmm See the problem now? Well, it was quite 'fun' to get the website working under SharePoint. But here is the final product. There are several overrides to core.css that I had to do to make this website functional.
